About SwampNet

SwampNet is a project to design, develop, and steward community and place-based technologies in Bvlbancha | New Orleans and across the Gulf South.

We began our work in 2023 building emergency communication systems to support mutual aid disaster relief.

Our current work includes:

  • Building alternative communications infrastructures for community organizations
  • Designing local data servers and archives
  • Experimenting with environmental sensing systems for community farms and gardens
  • Supporting equitable participation in building just tech futures

See below for zines and writings we have done around our work!
